Yannakis, Victoria 1938-2025
It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished mother and grandmother, Victoria Yannakis, who left us peacefully on October 27th, 2025, surrounded by those she loved most. She was 87 years old, and though she may be gone from our sight, the light of her love will forever remain in our hearts.
Born on May 10, 1938, in Agia Irini, Kefalonia. Vicky spent her life devoted to her family and her faith. Her warmth, kindness, and guiding spirit touched everyone she met. She was a source of unconditional love and generosity.
She leaves behind a family who adored her beyond measure. Her children: Helen Giakoumatos (Danny Mansour) and Peter Giakoumatos. Her grandchildren: Devon, Omar, Derek, Ariel, and Viena.
Vicky found joy in the simple things-cooking and baking the most delicious Greek meals/desserts, walking for hours in her neighborhood, offering comforting words when needed and helping others. Her home was always open, her hugs always warm, and her laughter always sincere. She was our rock and safe place.
We are so deeply grateful for every moment we shared together. Her love was a light that will never fade, and her spirit will continue to guide us through the days ahead.
The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Complex Funéraire Yves Légaré (1350 Aut Chomedey, Laval).
A funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church (4865 Chemin du Souvenir, Laval), followed by the burial at Ste-Dorothée Cemetery (655 rue Principale, Laval).
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff at the CHSLD Residence Riviera for their wonderful support and outstanding care.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to : Foundation Riviera Residence in her honor. Website Riviera Residence Foundation - Riviera Residence (Residential and long-term care centre)
