It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Vera Marunczak, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, on March 4, 2025. Vera was a beacon of love, kindness, and strength, whose warmth touched the lives of everyone she met.
Born on August 26, 1932 to Alex Lukian and Bronislava Charynska, Vera grew up in a close-knit family where she learned the values of compassion and resilience. She carried these values throughout her life, always putting others before herself and offering a helping hand to those in need.
Vera was the loving wife of her deceased husband, Peter Marunczak, with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.
Vera's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her children, Donna and Peter Marunczak Jr., always supporting them with unwavering love and guidance. Her grandchild, Katherine Kerr Marunczak, was the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
A woman of many talents, Vera had a passion for gardening, cooking, knitting and Ukrainian dancing. Her garden was a sanctuary of beauty, filled with vibrant flowers and plants that she lovingly tended to. Her home-cooked meals were a source of comfort and joy for her family and friends, and her knitted creations were gifts of love that warmed both body and soul. Vera's love for Ukrainian dancing was a testament to her vibrant spirit and cultural pride, and she often shared this joy with her community through performances and teaching.
Vera's kindness extended beyond her family. She was an active member of her community, volunteering her time and energy to various causes. Her generosity and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
Vera will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her infectious smile, and her boundless love. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Donna and Peter Marunczak Jr., her son-in-law Tommy Guttmann, her daughter-in-law Alison Kerr Wardrop, her granddaughter Katherine Kerr Marunczak, and many dear friends. Vera's memory will live on in our hearts forever.
