Prassinio Loula Thanopoulos (Efstathiou) February 22, 1945 - December 12, 2025
Known affectionately as Loula to all who loved her, it is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Prassinio Loula Thanopoulos (Efstathiou) on December 12, 2025, in Montreal, at the age of 80.
Born on February 22, 1945, in Greece, Loula lived a life defined by devotion to her family, kindness to all who knew her, and a spirit of warmth that touched countless lives. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Kimon, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership.
Loula leaves behind her cherished children and children-in-law, whom she embraced as her own: Zoe, Jimmy, Costa, Anna, Nick, and Fay. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Sofia, Alexa, Michael, Daniela, Luca, Andriana, and Stefano, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Her circle of love extended far beyond her immediate family, as she leaves behind many dear friends and relatives who will remember her as a caring soul who always placed her family's needs above her own.
Loula's legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and in the countless moments of kindness she shared throughout her life.
The family will receive condolences on Sunday, December 21st from 4pm-8pm at Yves Légare Funeral Complexe, 7200 boul.Newman, Lasalle.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 22nd at 10:30 am at St.Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church, 7707 boul.Lasalle.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the charities Loula supported for many years: Shriners Hospital for Children, Montreal Children s Hospital, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. To honor her spirit, the family also encourages all to cherish time with their loved ones, as she always believed that family was life's greatest gift.
