It is with great sorrow that we announce the loss of Mike Mentakis on September 11, 2026 at approximately 4:30pm. He was a brother, a brother-in-law, a father, and a friend to those who knew him. He was 59 years old, just two months shy of marking his milestone 60th birthday.

He leaves behind his children Yanni Mentakis and Angela Mentakis (Amir Mohamed Boutaghou), his brother Stefan Mentakis (Dia Matheos), and niece and nephews Matthew, Jonathan and Stefanie Mentakis.

He had his own unique sense of humour, sometimes offbeat, in an Archie Bunker kind of way. Sometimes he was compulsive over the tiniest things, and other times he was nonchalant about the bigger things. He faced life on his own terms, he stood tall, and he did it his way. He was loved and respected. He was always there for his family and friends, especially his children, whom he loved loudly and unconditionally.

We will miss you, Mike. We love you, Baba.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, September 17th 2026, from 5pm to 7pm (1350 autoroute 13, Laval, Québec, H7X W9)

Complexe funéraire Sainte-Dorothée

Le complexe Sainte-Dorothée est unique par son architecture audacieuse. Il dispose d’une vaste chapelle dotée d’un chœur baigné de lumière sur deux étages. C’est un lieu absolument splendide et propice à la célébration des funérailles. Il comprend aussi à proximité, le Cimetière Papineau et le Mausolée du Ruisseau, des lieux empreints de sérénité au cœur de la nature.
