It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Leonardo Pellegrino, on June 23rd, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born on September 16th, 1939, in Benevento, Italy, Leonard later made his home in Montreal, where he built a life defined by family, dedication, and quiet strength.
A food chemist by profession, Leonard approached life with care and precision. Whether at work, tending to his garden, or preparing meals for family and friends, he took pride in doing things well. He found joy in life's simple pleasures - growing vegetables, cooking for loved ones, spending time with his grandchildren, and following his beloved soccer team, Napoli.
He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 60 years, Michelina; his children, Anthony (Nadia) and Marisa (Anastasios); and his cherished grandchildren, Sofia and Alessio. He will also be deeply missed by many relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Yves Légaré Funeral Complex (7200 Newman Blvd, LaSalle, QC, H8N 1X2).
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church (2510 rue Springland, Montreal, QC, H4E 2G5).
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and staff at LaSalle Hospital and the Centre d'hébergement Yvon-Brunet for their compassionate care and support.
