Ilko Golymbiowsky

1920-2024
Ilko Golymbiowsky passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024, at the age of 103.

Born July 29th, 1920 in Stare Misto, Pidhajci, Ukraine. He immigrated to Canada in July 1947 and finally made his way to Montreal. Ilko was devoted to his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Szwec who preceded his death. Together they raised their two children Anna (Frank) and Paul (Luba). He leaves behind his 5 grandchildren who he was very proud of Julianne (Mark), Tanya (Giovanni), Melania (Taras), Larysa (Adrian) and Nikola. He also had 4 great grandchildren Luthien, Arwen, Valentina and Markus.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 as of 10h30 am at Holy Ghost Parish Church, 1795, Grand Trunk, Montréal, Qc H3K 1M1, followed by the funeral at 11h30 am and thence, to the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.

We would like to thank the caring staff at Marie-Curie Sklodowska (Institut Canadien-Polonais du Bien-être) who took care of Ilko for the last 10 years of his life.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Holy Ghost Parish would be appreciated.
