Helga Bluemel

1938-2024
In Loving Memory of Helga Bluemel (1938 - 2024)

Helga Bluemel, a beacon of strength and grace, departed from us peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2024, at the age of 85, following her valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Helga was the cherished wife of Cipriano Da Re for 52 years, the devoted mother of Daniel (Marilyn) and Adriana (Evangelos), and the adored grandmother of Evan, Katerina, Christian, Sydney, Madeline, and Natalie. Survived by her sisters Heidrun (Patrick) and Sigrid (Ron) and her brother Guenter, she leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever endure in the hearts of her family and a host of relatives and friends.

Born in Vienna, Austria, Helga ventured to Canada, where she built a life filled with love, adventure, and purpose alongside her beloved husband. Their journey together led them from Pakistan to the Bahamas, finally settling in Laval Sur Le Lac, Quebec. Helga found joy in her career at Eastern Airlines and nurtured her passions for painting and gardening. Those fortunate enough to have known Helga were touched by her warmth, wisdom, humor, unwavering resilience and her strong faith in God and love for Jesus.

A celebration of Helga’s life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:30 am at Ste-Dorothée Church in Laval, Quebec. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Sainte-Dorothée Cemetery.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and personal support workers at Hôpital Cité-de-la-Santé for their exceptional care. A special thank you is extended to our friend, Mr. Christian Auger, who provided on-going care and support thoughout the years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospital Cité-de-la-Santé Palliative Care Foundation would be deeply appreciated, honoring Helga’s legacy of compassion and generosity.

Helga Bluemel will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us with love and memories that will endure for generations to come. May her memory continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her.
