While not a stranger to tragedy and loss, this one hurts the most. On behalf of my mother and myself, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Georgios Trogadis on Monday June 3, 2024, peacefully in his sleep and surrounded by family, while in the embrace of my mother and myself.
Through this difficult time, we take enormous comfort in knowing that he is finally reunited in the loving arms of his first born, John Trogadis, with his granddaughter Lia Grace Trogadis, his parents Maria and Yianni Trogadis, and with his besties Thio Panayoti (Peter) Strigas and Thio Vassili (Bill) Makris.
Georgios was born in July of 1938 in the village of Stimanga, in Korinthos, Greece. As anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him would tell you, my father has no equal. A gentle man and a gentleman, selfless, patient, loving, humble, pragmatic, logical, unburdening, considerate and kind to everyone from family, friends to strangers. Soccer player, avid sports enthusiast (hey sometime the apple strays!), good humored, conservative but unconventional, he served the community as an Anesthetic Technician & in Patient Care at the Royal Victoria Hospital. His was a life of triumph and of tragedy; of love and loss. Despite everything, his spirit remained undiminished and he always a loving source of inspiration for me and everyone around him.
He was loved and cherished by many people especially his wife of over 50 years, Despina Trogadis, his grandkids, John and Matteo, his daughter in law Liezel (he loved her greeting him “Hi Bah”) his sisters Koula, Yota and Nitsa, his nieces, his nephews, his cousins, in-laws, and close friends.
