Arlene Sioui (nee Mendelsohn)

1950-2024
In Loving Memory of Arlene Sioui (nee Mendelsohn)

February 22, 1950- December 30, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene Rose Sioui (Mendelson) who left us peacefully while surrounded by her friends and family on December 30, 2024 at the age of 74. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Robert Walter Sioui, and her cherished daughter, Jennifer Gail Sioui, both of whom she has now joyfully rejoined.

Arlene dedicated her life to serving others. She spent much of her career working in homes for the elderly, offering comfort and companionship to those who needed it most. She believed deeply in the dignity of every person, and her caring nature made her a cherished presence in the lives of many.

A devoted wife and mother, Arlene was a true example of love in action. She lived not for herself, but for others, and her life was a testament to the power of kindness and service. Though life presented her with many challenges, including the heartbreaking losses of her husband and daughter, she faced each day with grace and resilience. Arlene will be remembered for her enduring love for her family and her commitment to helping others.

She is survived by her sons Jason (Stacey) and Corey (Debbie) and her grandchildren Hailey, Zachary, Reid, Parker and Keira. Although she is deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those she loved most, and her spirit will forever live on in our hearts.

Friends are invited to say a final goodbye as we celebrate Arlene’s life on January 13, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a small service at Yves Legare Funeral Home, 123 Maple Blvd, Chateauguay, QC. Burial will follow at Christ Roi Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Chateauguay Food Bank, where Arlene spent many Mondays preparing food baskets for those in need.

Condolences to the family

Sending love to you all from Australia. I only ever got to meet Bubbie when she flew over to meet me as a baby, but she always made an effort to celebrate milestones with me and keep in touch. She will be forever in my heart, my mother and my grandparents here send their love too. Rest in peace Arlene

T.o Jason,Corey & family. It is with a heavy heart I am sending you my deepest condolences. I will remember Arlene with fond memories of our good times on Ashmore. We kept in touch via facebook & just 2 weeks ago I heard from your Mom wishing me good wishes. I am sure Bob & Jen are waiting for her with open arms. Try to remember the good times. Sincerly with love . Pat Rosettani & Family

My heart goes out to Jay and the family. Arlene and Bob were like second parents to me in my twenties and spent a lot of time in their house. I was treated like one of the kids and would get an even earful when I stepped out of line 😂 They welcomed all us kids into their house and you could always feel the love they had for their family and knew it was a safe space. I will always have the fond memories when Arlene would take the time to come see me when I was working…shows she still cared and thought of me when I didn’t come around much anymore. Arlene and Bob will always be special to me…RIP Mark, Kelly, Samantha and Jack

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Your mother was a wonderful person who touched the lives of many. Her love and guidance will forever be a part of you, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. I can't find the words to express how sorry I am for your loss. Your mother's legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire us all. Losing a parent is an unimaginable pain. Please remember that you're not alone in your grief. Lean on the love and support of friends and family as you navigate through this difficult journey. During this time of loss, I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Your mother's spirit will forever shine through you, and her love will continue to guide your path.
