It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angelo Marandola, husband of Brigida Di Loreto, at the age of 83.
Angelo, left his hometown in Italy in 1962 after having met and married the love of his life. Brigida and Angelo built a life together and raised two beautiful daughters. They spent their years bringing their Italian traditions to Longueuil, while still making time to visit his beloved family in Italy and spending their winter months in Florida.
He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, bright blue eyes and being a jokester with everyone who crossed his path. If you knew Angelo, you know that he took pride in every challenge that came his way and this was reflected through his endless amount of trophies and medals. He was an amazing bocce player and thanks to him, Longueuil now has an outdoor and indoor bocce field. Angelo was a handyman, loved his tools and built his very own home. He was a family man and was always the first on the dance floor at all our family events. He took advantage of every opportunity to go away during hunting season with his buddies. Above all, Angelo’s passion for Italian soccer was indescribable. This was obvious to us all when he created his own Little Italy in Longueuil when Italy won the World Cup and when he coached his neighbourhood team.
Our beloved Angelo will be missed by his wife Brigida, daughters Lorella and Orietta. He will never be forgotten by his grandchildren Adrian, Alessia, Nicolas and Melissa.
Visitations will be held at Yves Légaré Funeral Complex, 2750 Boul. Marie-Victorin Est, Longueuil, on Sunday November 5, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday November 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Following, a funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel.
We would like to take the time to thank the staff at CHSLD René Lévesque and Pierre Boucher Hospital for their care and support.
The family will be accepting flowers in Angelo’s honour and may be ordered at Le Flower Shop in Montreal (8740 Boul Gouin E) or a donation to the Douglas Foundation.
