It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Tur, on September 25, 2024, at the age of 73.
He was the beloved husband for 44 years of Irene Mytko-Tur. He will be deeply missed by his sisters-in-law, Liz and Wanda (Maurice, RIP), Lesia (Orest, RIP), nephews Michael (Robin), Yuri (Johanne), Peter (Kaori). He will also be also missed by many relatives and friends.
A career teacher, Danny taught at both John Rennie and Beaconsfield High Schools and was a summer school principal at the Lakeshore School Board for 15 years.
Active in his community, he was a lifelong member of the Plast Ukrainian Youth Association and sat on the board of directors of the P.A.P.T. Credit Union as well as the Caisse d'Economie Strathcona.
Danny had many interests and hobbies, including cooking and sailing. As a member of the Royal Saint Lawrence Yacht Club, he was part of first Canadian sailing crew to win the Mayor’s Cup in Plattsburgh, New York.
The family will receive condolences on Monday, September 30 from 5 to 9 PM, at Yves Legare funeral home (14370, Boul. de Pierrefonds, Pierrefonds, QC, H9H 4R7).
Panakhyda will take place at 7:30 PM at the chapel of the complex.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday October 1 at 8:30 AM at the same complex, followed by the burial at Notre-Dame- Des-Neiges Cemetery at 11:15 AM.
