Ib Olaf Nielsen 1936-2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Ib Olaf Nielsen on February 1st, 2024, at
the age of 87.

Ib was the beloved husband of 64 years and best
friend to Patricia Ann (nee Whittaker), beloved
son to the late Kai and Agnes Nielsen, devoted
and loving father to Ron (Adrienne), Janet
(Robert), and Ken (Sherri), dear big brother to
Robert (Gail) and Donald (Lynn).

He took great pride and joy in and will be sadly missed by his seven
grandchildren Kai, Kalina, Wils, Liam, Justin, Nicholas, Ryan and his
great-grandchildren Levi and Lexi.
He will be greatly missed by all his nieces and nephews, in-laws and lifelong friends that he made through his involvement in the “Old
Boys” (Rovers), his many adventures with the family and through work in
the Caribbean, H.S. Billings High School, the Woodlands community, the
Carravelo bicycle group, and at St. Andrew’s United Church.

Family and friends meant everything to Ib. His absence, zest for life and
laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family very much appreciated the care provided by the CLSC team in
Chateauguay, Dr Sylvie Prevost, Stephanie and Roselyn went above and
beyond to offer us support and compassion and we are so very grateful to
them.

A visitation will be held at 12pm followed by a memorial service at 1pm at
St. Andrew’s United Church (46 Rue Dupont O, Chateauguay,
QC J6J 1G1) on Saturday, February 17th, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St.Andrew’s United Church
or the charity of your choice.
