It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Panayiotis Stavropoulos, on September 21, 2026, at the age of 86.
Beloved husband of Garifalia Leontaraki for 63 years, he leaves to mourn his children Socrates Stavropoulos, Christina Stavropoulos (Valerio Desiato), he was predeceased by his daughter Athanasia Stavropoulos (Jimmy Tsoraidis). He was a devoted grandfather to Giuseppe D'Asti (Nathalie Codsi), Anthony D'Asti, Katerina Tsoraidis, Panayiotis Tsoraidis, George Tsoraidis, Fabio Desiato and Luca Desiato, and a proud great-grandfather to Amalia D'Asti.
He will also be deeply missed by his sister Aphrodite Stavropoulos and Nikos Nanas of New York, his sister-in-law Maria Leontaraki, his brother-in-law Andreas Leontarakis of Crete, Greece, as well as many relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Yves Légaré Complexes Funéraires, 1350 Autoroute 13, Laval, Quebec H7X 3W9.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 3780 Du Souvenir, Laval, followed by burial at the cemetery located at 2500 Avenue des Perron, Laval, Quebec H7J 1G5.
