Does the funeral home handle transportation of the deceased?

Yes. Transportation is coordinated by the team according to the circumstances and location of death, in compliance with applicable rules.

Who fills out the official documents after a death?

The team can prepare, submit, or coordinate several documents, but some official records remain issued by Quebec’s Registrar of Civil Status (Directeur de l’état civil).

Can the funeral home publish the death notice?

Yes, support is available to gather the necessary information and publish the death notice when the family chooses this service.

What’s left for the family to do once the funeral home is chosen?

This varies depending on the services selected. Certain steps, particularly with government agencies or insurance providers, generally remain the family’s responsibility. An advisor can clarify what applies to your situation.
