With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kathleen Lafferty on February 14, 2026.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore Blasi, in May 2025. Their life together was complex, but we hope that in death they have found the love they once shared.
She leaves behind her daughter, Gina, and her husband, Sylvain; her son, Tony, and his wife, Donna, along with their children, Jennifer and Kyle; and her youngest son, Kristopher, and his partner, François. Each of her children shared a unique relationship with her and carries their own memories of her life and love.
She lived the past several years with dementia, a difficult journey she did not face alone. She was surrounded by family and love at the time of her passing.
Kathleen will be remembered as a gifted cook who could transform the simplest ingredients into something memorable, and as an impeccable housekeeper who took pride in her home. Around her kitchen table, there were good memories - chatting, playing cards, and sharing meals. She was a mother who wanted her children not only to succeed, but to survive and thrive, and she taught them lessons that will stay with them for life. She carried personal struggles throughout her life and faced them with the strength she knew how to summon.
We hope she has now found rest - and perhaps is once again surrounded by the many beloved dogs she loved so fiercely.
