It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Fenia Kocan Krywiak, on August 1, 2023 at the age of 95. She passed peacefully at Residence Legault, Beaconsfield, and the family sincerely thanks the staff for their care & kindness, especially in the last days.
Fenia is dearly remembered by daughters Orysia & Maria (Gerald Gudzio) and son Peter (Naz); along with grandchildren Larissa (Ray Arseneau), Christina (Steven Mucci), Pascale & Leneya (Adriano Santos), Armaan & Onjoli, and Andrew Goletz (Lisa). Predeceased by husband Petro & daughter Olesia, she is also fondly remembered by great-grandchildren Liam, Ethan & Evan, as well as son-in-law Pete Goletz of Pennsylvania.
Born in Wislok, Ukraine and arriving in Montreal in 1949 as a young mother, and wife to Petro to join her father already here, Fenia “sailed the challenges of life” as a devoted mother & grandmother, always ready to help, advise & support her loved ones. She became an accomplished homemaker who loved road trips with her family, embraced the outdoors with various activities, and became accomplished in Ukrainian embroidery. In younger years, she was an active member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League chapter of her beloved Ukrainian Catholic Holy Ghost Church, where she was regarded as a kind friend.
Fenia was very proud of her children & grandchildren’s accomplishments, having instilled by example the values of hard work & dedication for a life well-lived. Her gentle nature & kindness will be missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive condolences on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Yves Legare (LOGO for the Gazette)
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 12:30 pm at the Ukrainian Catholic Holy Ghost Church 1795 Grand Trunk St., Montreal.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ukrainian Catholic Holy Ghost Church would be greatly appreciated.
